Success is by no means assured.

Danger Chicken

Chickens aren't terribly remarkable in Minecraft, most of the time.
They cluck, they splash in water a lot, and occasionally lay eggs.  One of the very first rooms I built on Glass Island was a tiny grass enclosure behind the Storeroom.  Once in a while, an animal spawns there; today it was a chicken.

At first it seemed to be a perfectly ordinary chicken.

Nothing to see here blocky human, move on.

It laid a few eggs, and seemed quite persistant.  Most chickens despawn quite quickly for me.  Finally I poked my head in the pen to see what was up.  No sooner had I opened the door, the chicken bolted for freedom.

The hallway outside leads to my Workroom, and the incinerator is right on the corner.

No Chicken, don't do it!

Did I have a suicidal chicken?  Maybe being cooped up in that little glass room had made it go crazy.  Nope, it was just checking out the rosy glow of the lava.  Twice.  I conclude that chickens are in fact much smarter than Wolves.

What are you so worried about?  I'm just taking a look!

I spent a good half-day chasing Danger Chicken all over the Workshop, hallway, and the Storeroom.

What's in here? Can I see?

I seemed to have an adreneline junkie of the feathered variety on my hands.  It tried to run out the front door and hug a creeper, thankfully the doors closed before either could switch sides.  While I frantically destroyed the pressure plate to keep the chicken from letting in any unwanted guests, it ran off again.

Exasperated at my inability to herd the chicken back into its pen, finally I blocked off the corridors with double high dirt blocks and managed to contain the errant fowl at last.

Let's see you get out of *this*, Danger Chicken.
