Well, there's good news, and bad news. The good news is the cave turned out to not be so bad after all. Lots of water, but nothing wanting to eat my sweet blocky flesh for dinner.
The bad news?
Well, it started raining. And apparently there was a spider party being held on my roof.
One, two, three. Three Spiders.
So, what do you do when it's night, raining, and there's a flesh eating spider party on your roof? Build a water slide of course.
After draining my inground pool and installing a much more enjoyable waterslide, I decided there was no reason not to make this little cave a proper outpost. Plunk, down goes the crafting bench. Plunk, plunk, plunk plunk. Furnaces. After loading them up with the sand and charcoal, I got to sit through an entire night listening to partying spiders. Joy.
The morning was slightly better. Emphasis on slightly. The rain had stopped!
Luckily my doorway was recessed and only one block deep, so I was able to make some spider kebabs with all three. Unfortunately the spiders had also invited over another guest.
