This is an image-blog following one timid player and her attempts to avoid Creeper hugs, falling into fiery lava death, and being chewed by Zombies.
Success is by no means assured.

Slime Surveying

Knowing is only half the job - once you locate the chunks they spawn in, then comes the task of finding it in-game.  There are two chunks (sadly not convergent) under Glass Island, but I'm starting with just one.  First digging out the perimeter.  Had a couple nice finds along the way, including some diamonds.

Then blowing out the middle. Setting off TNT was becoming almost routine.

This, however, was definitely not routine.  Mushroom stairs?  Was I going to hit another cave system?  Unlit caves would put a definite damper on the number of Slimes I would be able to get.
Luckily it turned out to be just a very tiny cave, completely filled by the fungi.

The next one was definitely not small.
But those are torches I see!  Indeed, I've joined up to a cave system I already explored, down at the deepest level of Mining Shaft Alpha.  That's the good news. The bad news, is the last corner for my slime farm perimeter is five blocks ahead, IN the lava. And I thought this was going to go smoothly for once... Hah.
